The PUB has indicated that daily price adjustments will remain in effect. They plan to reassess the frequency of these adjustments on a weekly basis until further notice. This ensures that the pricing remains responsive to market changes.
Current Pricing Overview
- Gasoline: Decreased by 1 cent
- Diesel: Decreased by 6.5 cents (island), approximately 7 cents (Labrador West)
- Furnace and Stove Oil: Decreased by nearly 6 cents per litre
The PUB acknowledges the volatility in the energy market. Some retailers might face losses due to the fluctuating prices. However, when prices surge, they could benefit from their existing inventory which was purchased at lower rates.
It’s important to note that gas price regulation in the region is governed by provincial government policy. This regulatory framework aims to provide stability amidst market volatility while considering the interests of both consumers and retailers.
