Wetherspoon Launches New Pub at Hayle Holiday Park
The Bluff, a JD Wetherspoon venue, has opened at Haven Riviere Sands Holiday Park in Hayle, Cornwall. The site is a conversion of the long-standing Bluff Inn and keeps its original name.
Site and setting
The name refers to the steep bank beside the coast. The pub offers prominent sea and coastline views from its position on Riviere Towans.
Interior touches include a bespoke carpet design. The motif reflects the Hayle Estuary, local industry, and Cornish wildlife.
Staffing, capacity and opening hours
More than 60 staff will be employed during the peak summer season. The venue can host up to 380 guests at once.
Breakfast service begins at 8am. Opening hours run until midnight daily in July and August, and until 11pm from March to June and September to November.
Food and drink
The bar stocks real ale, a selection of wines, craft beers and cocktails. The menu offers traditional breakfasts, fish and chips, burgers and pizzas.
Management view
Darren Hiscock, general manager at Haven Riviere Sands, welcomed the opening. He said the new pub will be a popular addition for guests and owners.
Partnership rollout
The arrival in Hayle forms part of a wider tie-up between Haven and Wetherspoon. It is one of three new venues added after a £9m investment in holiday park hospitality.
Other recent openings under the deal include sites at Lakeland in Cumbria, Hopton in Norfolk and Cala Gran in Blackpool. The initial park pub opened at Primrose Valley, Filey, in March 2024.
Further Wetherspoon locations created since the partnership include Haggerston Castle near Berwick, Cleethorpes Beach in Lincolnshire, Devon Cliffs near Exmouth and the Kent Coast park near Rochester.
Operational impact
Since the partnership began, the chain has served 907,000 main meals. It has also provided 288,000 breakfasts and pulled 692,201 pints across Haven sites.
Filmogaz.com will continue to monitor developments as Wetherspoon launches new pub projects at Hayle and other holiday parks. More updates will follow during the summer season.
