Major Recall: 3.1 Million Eye Drop Bottles Sold at Major Retailers

Federal regulators announced a major recall affecting more than 3.1 million eye drop bottles. The recall was issued by K.C. Pharmaceuticals, Inc. over sterility concerns.

  • Eye Drops Advanced Relief — 303,216 bottles. Sold at Walgreens, Kroger and CVS.
  • Dry Eye Relief Eye Drops — 1,023,096 bottles. Sold at Harris Teeter and other retailers.
  • Ultra Lubricating Eye Drops — 245,184 bottles. Sold at Harris Teeter, Walgreens and CVS.
  • Sterile Eye Drops — 378,144 bottles. Sold at Walgreens, Kroger and Harris Teeter.
  • Sterile Eye Drops Redness Lubricant — 315,144 bottles. Sold at Walgreens.
  • Sterile Eye Drops Soothing Tears — 74,016 bottles. Sold at Walgreens.
  • ArtificialTears Sterile Lubricant Eye Drops — 589,848 bottles. Sold at Publix and Kroger.

The total number of recalled bottles is 3,111,072. Many were sold at major retailers nationwide.

Health advisory from federal officials

The Food and Drug Administration warned that use of these eye drops may cause temporary or medically reversible health effects. Federal health officials are urging consumers to stop using the affected bottles immediately.
