Sheetz Pledges Donation for Each Pittsburgh Pirates Home Run to Local Food Bank
Sheetz has announced a new season-long giving program tied to the Pittsburgh Pirates. The company will donate $100 for every Pittsburgh Pirates home run to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.
About the campaign
The initiative is called “Home Runz for Hunger.” The announcement arrived on Thursday, one day before the team’s home opener at PNC Park.
Sheetz pledges donation amounts that convert into meals for neighbors in need. The company says each homer will supply roughly 300 additional meals.
Fan visibility at PNC Park
Fans at Friday’s game will find a new Sheetz home run board. The board sits in the right field foul area and will display the home run total in real time.
Partnership and past contributions
Sheetz said the program expands its work with the local food bank. Over the past decade, the Made-to-Share program provided more than 950,000 pounds of food to the organization.
Expected impact
At $100 per long ball and 300 meals per homer, the campaign aims to deliver immediate aid. The effort connects baseball milestones to direct community support.
Filmogaz.com will follow updates as the season progresses and totals grow on the stadium counter.
