Lashana Lynch Joins ‘Peaky Blinders’ Sequel Series on Netflix & BBC

Filmogaz.com can confirm that Lashana Lynch has been spotted filming for the new Peaky Blinders continuation. The project moves the Shelby story into the 1950s.

Star casting and Lynch’s recent work

BAFTA-winning actress Lashana Lynch is attached to the series. Filmogaz.com reports that Lynch joins the cast in a role being kept under wraps.

Lynch is widely known for portraying Nomi, the first Black female 007, in No Time to Die. Her recent credits include The Woman King, Matilda the Musical, and a role within the Marvel Cinematic Universe opposite Captain Marvel.

She also appeared in Sky/Peacock’s The Day of the Jackal. Lynch is set to star in Children of Blood and Bone, scheduled for release in 2027.

Who else is involved

The new cast includes younger leads Cal O’Driscoll, Fintan Shevlin, and Jacob Wright. O’Driscoll’s credits include Video Nasty and September Says.

The production team comes from Kudos, the company behind This Town and SAS Rogue Heroes. That team is overseeing the TV continuation.

Series format and premise

The project was announced in October 2025. It is conceived as a two-season sequel series set in 1953.

Each season will contain six hour-long episodes. The BBC and Netflix will distribute the show.

The TV series follows the Shelby family during post-war reconstruction in Birmingham. The official synopsis frames reconstruction as a brutal contest for the city’s future.

Production details and locations

Production reportedly began at the beginning of March under the working title Peaky 1954. Filming started in Stoke-on-Trent.

The crew has used the Grade II-listed Queen’s Theatre in Burslem for interior shoots. Jenkins Street was dressed with 1950s cars for exterior scenes.

Producers expect most filming to take place at Digbeth Loc. Studios in Birmingham and on Birmingham streets. Recent on-set photographs show Lynch in period costume.

Connection to the film

The film The Immortal Man, set during World War II, serves as a bridge for this next television chapter. The show advances the timeline into the early 1950s.

Filmogaz.com will continue to monitor production. We will publish updates as official details and release dates emerge.
