France Issues Urgent Recall for Banned Pet Products

French authorities have ordered multiple recalls for CBD oils intended for pets. The products were sold nationwide under several brand names.

Filmogaz.com reports the items were marketed between 18 March 2022 and 19 March. Sales occurred on the online shops of CBDSol, Grossiste CBD and Mama Kana.

Authorities say this prompted an urgent recall of banned pet products in France. The measures aim to protect animal owners and the market.

Products affected

The recall covers CBD oil formulations for cats and dogs. All listed lots are affected for the specified references.

CBDSOL

  • Cat oil, 5% and 10% CBD. All lots affected. Packaged in 10 ml bottles. Best before 20 March 2028.
  • Dog oil, 5% and 10% CBD. All lots affected. Packaged in 10 ml bottles. Best before 20 March 2028.

Mama Kana

  • Cat oils, 5% and 10% CBD. All lots affected. Packaged in 10 ml, 30 ml and 100 ml bottles. Best before 20 March 2028.
  • Dog oils, 5% and 10% CBD. All lots affected. Packaged in 10 ml, 30 ml and 100 ml bottles.

Reason for the recall

Laboratory checks found CBD and hemp extracts present in the oils. These substances are considered unauthorized additives for animal feed.

The Ministry of Economy underlined that such additives need prior authorization. Only additives with proven efficacy may be placed on the market.

Advice to consumers

Consumers must stop using the recalled oils immediately. They should return the products to the point of sale or destroy them.

Refunds are available for customers who come forward before 1 September. For more information, call 01 88 81 21 02.
