Fortnite Update 40.10: Release Date, Downtime, OG Season 8 Battle Pass

The Fortnite Update 40.10 release date is April 1. Downtime begins at 4 AM ET (8 AM UTC / 9 AM BST) and ends about 10:30 AM BST. Matchmaking will close shortly before maintenance starts.
What’s coming in OG Season 8
The update launches OG Season 8 and its Battle Pass. New Battle Pass skins are available at launch for players to view and unlock. The patch adds Chapter 7, Season 2 Super Styles and several pop culture crossovers.
Classic map points return in this season. Lazy Lagoon, The Volcano and Sunny Steps are coming back. Players will also see returning weapons and items.

The Marvel Endgame LTM returns on April 3. Epic teased the patch on X with playful messaging ahead of downtime. Text-To-Speech and Speech-To-Text options are added for chat accessibility.
Enable these options in the Communication settings to have messages read aloud. Players can also dictate text chats using their mic.
Early patch notes and known issues
- Axo’s ‘Midnight’ Style may show an incorrect shirt and visual problems.
- The Overlay Contrail is missing from some players’ Lockers.
- A visual “Rewards to Claim” prompt can appear incorrectly in the Battle Pass Bonus section.
- Chaos Reloader Shotgun may fail to reload or display reload progress.
- Morphite weapons can show wrong ammo counts on the Quick Bar.
- Pickaxes may lose textures after a player is revived or rebooted.
- The Season X Umbrella can cause gray placeholder textures while gliding.
- Using the Particle Accelerator while affected by Overdrive Grenade may trap players under terrain.
- Featured item icons on Vending Machines may appear stretched visually.
- A zipline near Latte Landing can knock players off without granting fall immunity.
- Text chat currently does not open in Fortnite OG matches.
