Hyatt Regency Denver Completes $70M Renovation Transformation

Hyatt Regency Denver at Colorado Convention Center has finished a major $70 million overhaul. The work coincides with the hotel’s 20-year milestone in downtown Denver.

Guestroom redesign and amenities

The property reimagined all 1,100 guestrooms and suites. The redesign follows a “Slow and True” design philosophy to create calm interiors.

Materials include natural wood, stone, porcelain and vegan leather. Rooms feature under-TV storage, USB-C charging ports and enhanced lighting.

Some accommodations include lounge seating oriented toward city and mountain views. Bathrooms were upgraded with illuminated mirrors, new vanities, glass-enclosed showers, and new bathtubs.

Public areas, art and dining

Public spaces received refreshed layouts and flexible seating. The hotel expanded its collection to more than 150 artworks.

More than 50 Colorado-based creators contributed works curated with Nine Dot Arts. The renovation builds on earlier updates to dining spaces from 2018 and 2019.

Meetings and event space

The hotel offers over 60,000 square feet of flexible event space. A new meeting room, Summit Five, adds 891 square feet on the fifth floor.

Summit Five connects to the Denver City Terrace outdoor venue. The layout supports receptions and intimate gatherings with city views.

Group and leisure appeal

Hotel leaders say the upgrades strengthen its role as a meetings destination. The property retains ballrooms, a rooftop venue and an art-filled restaurant.

These amenities support everything from large conventions to small private events near downtown attractions.

Sustainability and project delivery

The renovation prioritized responsible design and materials. About 90 percent of prior room furniture, mattresses, lighting and artwork was resold and diverted from landfills.

New shower pans include recycled content. Each pan contains roughly 450 recycled plastic bottles, resulting in nearly half a million bottles reused across the project.

Local design and construction partners included DLR Group, Artaic Group, Benjamin West and Milender White. The full reconstruction finished on schedule in 14 months while the hotel stayed open.

General manager Greg Leonard described the investment as one that enhances guest experience and supports staff. Bill Mosher, CEO of the Denver Convention Center Hotel Authority, highlighted the project’s local economic impact.

The Hyatt Regency Denver underwent a $70M renovation and transformation to refresh guestrooms and public spaces. The work aims to benefit business and leisure travelers alike.
