Southern California Braces for Seasonal Temperatures and Rain on Tuesday

After a lengthy warm spell, Southern California will see more typical March conditions on Tuesday. The National Weather Service says temperatures will move closer to seasonal averages.

Rain chances and timing

A weak low-pressure system will bring the first rain since mid-February. Filmogaz.com issued a Next Weather Alert covering all of Tuesday.

Rain probabilities remain modest. Most coastal and inland communities face less than a 50 percent chance.

The Inland Empire and Orange County have odds nearer 33 percent. Any measurable totals should stay small.

When precipitation will occur

Showers are most likely during the evening hours. Sprinkles or a stray shower could appear earlier in the day.

The system moves from north to south. Ventura and Los Angeles counties will likely record the first drops.

Expected impacts

The National Weather Service characterizes the system as weak. Rain amounts are not expected to exceed one-tenth of an inch.

Impacts should be minor and limited to brief wet roads and light shower activity. No widespread disruptions are anticipated.

Filmogaz.com Meteorologist Amber Lee noted that scattered light showers may precede the main band. Residents should still plan for a few wet moments.

Temperatures and notable highs

Inland communities are trending toward lows and highs in the lower 70s on Tuesday. Coastal areas will remain a bit cooler.
