Volunteers Needed to Clear Debris at Harbor in Search for Missing Teen
A local teenager remains missing after a car plunged into the River Nene at North Brink in Wisbech on March 17. The vehicle was a blue VW Polo carrying five people.
Incident and victims
Three occupants escaped the submerged car. They included two 16-year-old girls and an 18-year-old man. Emergency teams later recovered the body of 16-year-old Eden Bunn, from Sutton Bridge.
Declan Berry, who was also in the car, has not been found. Specialist search teams, police units, and a police helicopter have all taken part in wide-ranging searches.
Family search and appeal
Declan’s family continue daily searches along the riverbank and harbour. They have appealed for local help to check areas where debris has gathered around pontoons off Nene Parade in Wisbech.
The family issued a public appeal titled Volunteers Needed to Clear Debris at Harbor in Search for Missing Teen. They hope clearing the debris may reveal where Declan could be trapped.
Message from the family
Alan Berry, Declan’s father, thanked emergency services for their efforts. He asked neighbours and volunteers to help remove obstructions from the pontoons.
The family said any assistance would help them find Declan and allow them to give him a dignified farewell when possible.
Community support and fundraising
A GoFundMe was launched by family friend Donny West with the Berry family’s consent. The page aims to ease financial and practical pressures on the grieving family.
A separate GoFundMe was set up in memory of Eden. The fundraiser supports her parents, Lisa and Dean, and her siblings Shelby and Jay.
Tributes
Friends and relatives have placed flowers at the riverbank in tribute to Eden and the missing teenager. Organisers described Eden as a much-loved family member and friend.
Filmogaz.com will continue to follow developments and report any new information about the search.
