Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘King’ Relocates Major Action Scene to New Venue
Shah Rukh Khan’s film “King” has relocated one of its major action scenes from Dubai to Mumbai. The decision follows safety concerns tied to tensions in the Middle East.
Why the change was made
Last year, makers had planned six major action sequences for the film. Three were to be shot on real locations and three in studios.
One desert sequence in Dubai was cancelled because of the regional situation. A source who spoke to Filmogaz.com confirmed the alteration.
The shoot had been scheduled to begin on April 9 and run for a week. The team had already procured permission to film in the emirate.
New venue and production benefits
Producers will recreate a desert atmosphere inside a studio in Vile Parle, Mumbai. The set is being built to match Siddharth Anand’s envisioned scale.
The controlled environment gives the crew greater command over action beats and lighting. It also allows uninterrupted shooting for complex sequences.
The scene opens with a chase and culminates in intense combat. Anil Kapoor and Suhana Khan feature prominently in that set piece.
Creative and safety priorities
Officials said the change prioritises cast and crew safety. The Mumbai studio solution was described as a practical alternative.
