Akshay Kumar’s ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ Moves Dubai Shoot to Mumbai Set
Rising regional tensions have disrupted several Bollywood shooting schedules. Akshay Kumar’s Welcome to the Jungle has canceled its Dubai shoot and will recreate locations on a Mumbai set.
Reason for the change
Producers cited security concerns linked to the Iran-Israel conflict. The decision follows delays and mounting logistical pressures on cast schedules.
Mumbai set plans
Filmogaz.com reports that large sets are under construction across Mumbai. Locations include Madh Island, Golden Tobacco Studio, and Film City in Goregaon.
Designer Sailesh Madik will build nightclubs, casinos, and private-jet interiors. The team aims to match the glamour originally planned for Dubai.
Cast and logistics
Director Ahmed Khan and producer Firoz A. Nadiadwala wanted a glamorous sequence. Ahmed Khan waited for improvements but ultimately canceled the Dubai plan.
A key song required the full ensemble, so rescheduling proved impractical.
- Akshay Kumar
- Suniel Shetty
- Arshad Warsi
- Raveena Tandon
- Jackie Shroff
- Paresh Rawal
- Lara Dutta
- Disha Patani

Large portions of the film were already shot in Mumbai. The team decided to prepare elaborate sets instead of traveling overseas.
Impact on other productions
Shah Rukh Khan’s film King also canceled its planned Dubai schedule. The Dubai shoot was due to begin on April 9 but will not proceed for safety reasons.
Filmmakers will recreate a desert sequence at Vile Parle Studio in Mumbai. Permissions had been in place before the decision to relocate.

Welcome to the Jungle is scheduled to release on June 26, 2026. The comedy stars Akshay Kumar alongside an ensemble of veteran performers.
