Bangladesh Football Federation President Wahid Uddin Chowdhury (Happy) attended the practice. Team leader and BFF executive committee member Manjurul Karim also joined the squad.

Recent friendly in Hanoi

Earlier this week, Bangladesh faced Vietnam in a friendly at H ng D y Stadium in Hanoi. The visitors suffered a 3-0 defeat in a match arranged as final preparation before the March 31 qualifier.

  • 17th minute: Nguyen Hoang Duc volleyed; goalkeeper Mehedi Hasan Srabon produced a good save.
  • 18th minute: Pham Xuan Manh scored with a close-range header from a set piece.

Vietnam controlled the game from the start and carried their lead to the final whistle. The friendly was used to fine-tune tactics ahead of the final AFC Asian Cup qualifier.

Selection and leadership ahead of qualifier

Coach Javier Cabrera maintained faith in several regulars for the Hanoi friendly. He named Hamza Choudhury in the starting lineup and kept Mehedi Hasan Srabon as custodian.

Sohel Rana wore the captain’s armband for that match, replacing regular captain Jamal Bhuyan. Fahamidul returned to the squad after being unavailable for the previous match due to a card issue.

Shamit Shom and Zayyan Ahmed led the attacking line during the friendly. The coaching staff will use lessons from Hanoi as they fine-tune the squad for March 31.
