Evidence shows the attacker purchased an AR-style rifle, ammunition, and fireworks. He also bought many water tanks and repeatedly filled them with gasoline.

On the day of the assault, he sat in the temple parking lot and maintained contact with a relative overseas. Roughly ten minutes before beginning the attack, he sent two videos in Arabic to his sister.

In the videos, the suspect declared he had booby-trapped his vehicle. He said he intended to enter the building and shoot occupants, aiming to kill as many as possible.
