Officials’ statements
DUP MP Carla Lockhart urged residents to follow PSNI guidance and to avoid the area while officers work. She said she understood the impact on local people and businesses, and welcomed the support measures put in place.
UUP leader Jon Burrows said on social media the alert followed the discovery of a suspicious vehicle at the entrance to Lurgan PSNI station. He added the incident would have caused significant distress for nearby residents.
