Alex Fitzpatrick Claims First DP World Tour Title at 2026 Indian Open

Alex Fitzpatrick, 27, secured his maiden DP World Tour victory at the Indian Open in 2026. He won at the DLF Golf and Country Club in Gurugram, Haryana on Sunday.

Fitzpatrick finished nine-under over four rounds to beat Eugenio Chacarra by two strokes. The win was his first DP World Tour title.

Final-day drama

Fitzpatrick had trailed Chacarra by four shots at the start of the final day. He posted a three-under round despite a double bogey on the 18th.

Chacarra, the 2025 champion, carded a three-over round and slipped to second. The Spaniard finished two strokes behind the winner.

Family and reaction

Fitzpatrick said he idolises his brother Matt and planned to join family in Florida. He described the past weeks as positive for the family.

Matt Fitzpatrick is a former US Open champion. He has ten DP World Tour wins and recently won the Valspar Championship.

That PGA Tour victory lifted Matt to a career-high world No. 6. The sibling success drew attention across both tours.
