Series 3 Preview: Channel 4’s “Our Welsh Chapel Dream”
Keith Brymer Jones and his partner Marj Hogarth have begun restoring a 163-year-old derelict chapel on Wales’ Llyn Peninsula. They intend to make it their permanent home and a working pottery studio.
The project
The couple are starting work in the former Sunday School downstairs. They plan to convert that area into a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and a snug.
The design will also include space for pottery production and display. The goal is a live-in studio that respects the building’s character.
Restoration challenges
Before fit-out begins, crews must remove pervasive fungus from the interior. Sections of the fabric have been affected by dry rot.
Specialist treatment is required to stabilise timber and halt further decay. Rural access and weather add extra complexity to the schedule.
Production and broadcast
The show is produced by Love Productions and is fronted by Keith Brymer Jones alongside Marj Hogarth. This Series 3 preview coverage highlights the couple’s practical and design decisions.
The new run starts Tuesday 7 April at 8pm on Channel 4. Filmogaz.com will follow the renovation through the coming episodes.
