Event timing and logistics
Race site opens at 5:45 a.m. for gear check. Both the half-marathon and the 4.3-mile 7K begin at 7:30 a.m.
Organizers expect the event to wrap up between 9 a.m. and noon. Participants should plan arrival and warm-ups accordingly.
Route details
The 13.1-mile half-marathon starts at 22nd Street and the Parkway. The course moves toward LOVE Park, then turns onto 16th Street.
Runners continue on John F. Kennedy Boulevard west to 20th Street. The route shifts south one block, then heads east on Market Street to Sixth Street.
From Sixth Street the course loops back through Arch Street to the Parkway. The finish is at Eakins Oval, in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
7K course
The 4.3-mile 7K starts between 20th and 21st Streets on the Parkway. It follows a downtown loop through LOVE Park, JFK Boulevard and Market Street.
The 7K returns via Arch Street and finishes at Eakins Oval.
Road closures
Enhanced security measures mean early closures on race morning. Benjamin Franklin Parkway and the MLK Bridge will be affected.
- Closed from 3 a.m. until about 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 29: Benjamin Franklin Parkway (22nd Street to Eakins Oval).
- Eakins Oval (Parkway to the Philadelphia Museum of Art) closed from 3 a.m. until about 1 p.m.
- Martin Luther King Jr. Drive closed from Eakins Oval to Falls Bridge from 3 a.m. until about 1 p.m.
- Kelly Drive closed from Eakins Oval to Fairmount Avenue from 3 a.m. until about 1 p.m.
Additional race-course closures begin at roughly 6:45 a.m. These affect streets used by both races.
- Benjamin Franklin Parkway, from 16th Street to Eakins Oval.
- 16th Street, from Parkway to John F. Kennedy Boulevard.
- John F. Kennedy Boulevard, from 16th to 20th Streets.
- 20th Street, from JFK Boulevard to Market Street.
- Market Street, from 20th Street to 15th Street and from Juniper Street to 6th Street.
- Sixth Street, from Market to Arch Street; Arch Street, from Sixth to Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
- Additional local park and drive segments, including Lansdowne Drive and Memorial Hill Drive.
Parking and local access
Temporary No Parking signs will be posted along the route. Posted restrictions apply Sunday, March 29 from 4 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Vehicles left in restricted areas may be relocated. Motorists should obey all posted signage.
More than 15 garages and lots sit near Eakins Oval. Typical prices range from $10 to $30 or more for the event.
SEPTA info and transit advice
Public transit is the recommended option for many attendees. Several SEPTA lines provide walking access to the Parkway.
- Market-Frankford Line: exit at 15th Street/City Hall for about a 25-minute walk to the start.
- Broad Street Line: use City Hall or Spring Garden stations for a 25-minute walk.
- Regional Rail: Suburban Station offers an easy walk to the Parkway.
SEPTA bus detours
Multiple bus routes will run detours on Saturday and Sunday during the event window. Riders should expect service changes.
- Detoured routes include: 2, 4, 7, 16, 17, 23, 27, 31, 32, 33, 38, 43, 44, 45, 47, 48, 49, 61, 124 and 125.
- Saturday detours run from about 6 a.m. on March 28 until roughly 2 a.m. on March 29.
- Sunday detours run from about 6 a.m. until roughly 1 p.m. on March 29.
