Glenn and Levito Poised for Medals at World Championships
The ISU Figure Skating World Championships continued in Prague on Wednesday with strong short programs. Amber Glenn and Isabeau Levito finished third and fourth respectively in the women’s short.
Glenn and Levito Poised for Medals at World Championships captures the situation heading into the free skate. Glenn led the U.S. charge with 72.65 points. Levito trailed closely with 72.16.
Women’s short program highlights
Amber Glenn opened her routine with the only triple Axel of the segment. She skated to Madonna’s “Like a Prayer” and earned two Level 4 spins.
Her triple flip-triple toe loop drew negative grades of execution. Glenn landed a solid triple loop and a powerful step sequence. She is the three-time and reigning U.S. champion.
Glenn finished fifth at the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympics. She was also part of the U.S. team that won Olympic team gold. This is her fourth straight World Championships appearance.
Isabeau Levito performed a lyrical program to a Sophia Loren medley. She executed the event’s most difficult combination, a triple Lutz-triple loop.
The Lutz-loop combination earned 10.63 points. Levito is the 2023 U.S. champion and the reigning U.S. bronze medalist. She won World silver in 2024 and placed 12th at the Olympics.
Levito said she altered her opening combination from the Olympic program. Her coach is Yulia Kuznetsova. The change paid off and boosted her short program score.
Rising debut and other women’s results
Sarah Everhardt made her World Championships debut after replacing Alysa Liu. The Haymarket, Virginia native scored 68.74 points and ranked ninth in the short.
Everhardt opened with a triple Lutz-triple toe loop that earned a program-high 11.53 points. Two spins received Level 4 and her step sequence gained Level 3.
She arrives at Worlds after medaling twice on the Challenger Series. Everhardt also won Four Continents bronze in 2025 and holds two U.S. Championships medals.
Pairs roundup
Emily Chan and Spencer Akira Howe sit sixth with 69.02 points. They skated to “Nyah” by CH2 and earned five Level 4 credits.
The pair opened with a strong triple twist. Chan doubled an intended triple toe loop, costing them jump points. They were alternates and received a late call to compete.
Alisa Efimova and Misha Mitrofanov placed seventh with 67.29 points. They had a solid triple twist but suffered two flawed elements.
Efimova underrotated a triple toe loop and put hands down on a throw triple loop landing. Their Axel lasso lift remained a highlight.
Katie McBeath and Daniil Parkman sit 11th with 64.42 points. Their throw triple Lutz was well landed, but a doubled planned triple toe loop reduced their score.
