ITV has confirmed additional episodes of Coronation Street and Emmerdale for the second consecutive week. The broadcaster has scheduled both soaps to air on Easter Sunday, April 5.
When the special episodes air
Emmerdale will air at 7:00pm on Easter Sunday. Coronation Street will follow at 7:30pm the same evening.
Viewers who use on-demand services can expect the episodes to appear on ITVX and YouTube in the morning. These timings mirror the usual digital release pattern.
Why the change was necessary
ITV says recent schedule chaos has disrupted normal soap timetables. Sporting fixtures and repeat drama slots, such as Vera, have caused several shifts.
The extra Sunday broadcasts compensate for episodes lost during the earlier disruptions. Broadcasters aim to keep storyline arcs on track.
Return to the regular slot
ITV expects the week beginning Monday April 6 to revert to the standard schedule. That means the Easter Sunday shows are a temporary adjustment.
