Circuit of the Americas Supports Unpaid TSA Agents with 400+ Care Packages

Circuit of The Americas staff delivered more than 400 care packages to TSA agents at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport on Thursday. The team arrived at the terminal shortly after 10 a.m.

What was included

The care packages contained gas gift cards, household essentials, and baby supplies. Items included diapers and infant formula.

Support and event access

Circuit of the Americas supports unpaid TSA agents by providing direct aid and access to upcoming events. Nearly 500 agents were offered complimentary entry, parking, and food and beverage for this weekend’s MotoGP.

Why the effort was organized

Agents at the airport have been working without pay since mid-February. The gifts followed talks between COTA leaders and airport management about the federal funding dispute.

Leadership response

Bobby Epstein, chairman of Circuit of the Americas, said many employees had exhausted savings and credit. He described the assistance as necessary relief amid ongoing funding problems.

The action drew attention as lawmakers publicly discussed TSA funding at the airport. Representative Greg Casar and Senator John Cornyn have exchanged remarks on the issue.
