‘High Potential’ Unveils Game-Changing Twist with Only 2 Episodes Remaining | Review

Season 2 of High Potential moves into its closing stretch with Episode 16, “Change of Plans.” Two episodes remain after this installment. The episode advances both the Roman Sinquerra mystery and multiple character arcs.

Tagger murder investigation

Major Crimes responds to the death of street artist Tyler Villanueva. He used the tag name D’Fnkt and was found draped over the side of the Encase building.

Morgan and Karadec learn Tyler had been painting inside the structure. He had tagged over another artist’s completed work, which becomes an early motive.

Clues inside Encase

Former tagger and professor Nicole provides background on the graffiti scene. She identifies another artist, Cyclops, whose real name is Anton.

Daphne and Oz locate Anton, who says Tyler and he were anonymously hired to paint Encase. The architect Gerald Lee then becomes a person of interest.

Investigators find that developer Brad Latmore paid the taggers to lower the building’s value. Latmore ultimately paid them, so he is cleared as the killer.

The building contained propane tanks and a glove full of gasoline. An ignition causes a small explosion and injures Karadec.

Morgan studies a model of Encase and notices a critical design flaw. The concrete side receives the most heat because the glass side faces the wrong way.

She concludes Gerald Lee attempted to burn down that side to redesign it. Lee is arrested after Tyler is linked to his attempt to stop the arson.

Complications in the Morgan–Karadec–Lucia triangle

Karadec plans a celebratory dinner with Lucia, who recently bought a house in Los Angeles. The news unsettles Morgan.

When Karadec is hurt during the Encase incident, Morgan shows deep concern. Lucia visits him in the hospital, and Karadec briefly confuses her with Morgan.

The three display care for each other despite the tension. Karadec later tells Lucia he loves her, and she reciprocates.

Major reveal in the Roman investigation

Willa Quinn, played by Jennifer Jason Leigh, reappears in Los Angeles. She is the fixer who ordered Roman Sinquerra’s abduction sixteen years earlier.

Willa pushes to silence Eric Hayworth, and she maneuvers to have him moved to an FBI facility. Selena had identified coded messages on Roman’s BlackBerry that match his disappearance.

Captain Wagner confronts family pressure when his father proposes a corruption panel. Wagner Sr. wants Morgan to join that panel, and Morgan refuses the offer.

Willa meets with Wagner Sr. and reveals they are connected. She confirms he played a direct role in Roman’s fate and implies he may have hired her.

What this sets up for the finale

This episode delivers a pivotal piece of evidence about Roman’s abduction. The revelation ties Willa and Wagner Sr. to the long-running mystery.

Filmogaz.com’s review calls this development a game-changing twist. With only 2 episodes remaining, the season builds toward an explosive conclusion.
