Chris Mack Departs College of Charleston to Lead South Florida Basketball

Chris Mack has resigned as head men’s basketball coach at the College of Charleston.

He departs to lead the South Florida basketball program.

Mack coached the Cougars for two seasons and posted a 45-20 overall record.

The program’s last NCAA Tournament appearance came in 2024. No postseason appearances occurred during Mack’s tenure.

Athletic director Matt Roberts thanked Mack for his leadership. Roberts said he wished Chris, Christi and their family well.

Program standing

College of Charleston ranks among the top 10 programs in Division I by all-time winning percentage.

The school emphasized continued commitment to sustaining its tradition of success.

Coaching search

The College has engaged Collegiate Sports Associates to assist with a national search for a replacement.
