LaMelo Ball’s Hunger to Learn Drives Hornets’ Resurgence
LaMelo Ball has emerged as the driving force for the Charlotte roster. Coach Charles Lee praised Ball’s infectious spirit and coachability.
The Hornets defeated the Memphis Grizzlies 124-101 at Spectrum Center on Saturday, March 21, 2026. Ball led Charlotte with 29 points, four assists and three rebounds.
The sellout crowd numbered 19,487, the sixth straight full house. It marked the Hornets’ 18th sellout of the 2025-26 season, two more than in 2022–23.
Impact on the standings
The victory improved Charlotte to 37-34. The Hornets moved to within 1.5 games of sixth place in the Eastern Conference play-in picture.
It was Charlotte’s third straight win and their fifth victory in six games. The stretch has helped the team keep pace with Atlanta, Orlando, Miami and Philadelphia.
