Under the new guidelines, age verification measures will ensure that children are not inadvertently exposed to inappropriate material. This includes:
- AI companion chatbots must confirm the age of users.
- App stores and gaming sites are to block access to adult-only content for users under 18.
- Search engines will automatically blur results involving pornography and high-impact violence for users not logged in.
In addition, users searching for sensitive topics like suicide or eating disorders will see links to mental health support services as the preliminary search results.

Inman Grant acknowledged that while no regulation can eliminate risks completely, these codes represent meaningful steps towards a safer online environment for young users.
