Former ‘Pawn Stars’ Co-Star Seeks GoFundMe Help for Medical Expenses

Corey Harrison, known for his appearance on “Pawn Stars,” is facing significant medical bills after a motorcycle accident in Mexico. The incident occurred on January 23, resulting in over $130,000 in hospital expenses.

Medical Expenses from Motorcycle Accident

To assist with these costs, a GoFundMe campaign was initiated by his friend and fellow “Pawn Stars” co-star, Aron Chambers. Launched recently, the campaign aims to gather $18,000 to help cover Harrison’s medical needs. Currently, it has collected $1,275.

Injuries Sustained in the Accident

Harrison, 42, suffered severe injuries including:

  • 11 fractured ribs
  • Shoulder compression fractures in the neck
  • Cuts on his hand requiring 10 stitches
  • A concussion

He was hospitalized for nearly a month and had more than three liters of blood drained from his lungs. Despite his injuries, Harrison expressed relief that his accident occurred in Mexico, as he estimated that treatment in the U.S. could have cost around $300,000.

Current Situation and Impact on Career

Although Harrison has earned substantial income from “Pawn Stars,” he did not anticipate a medical expense of this magnitude. He noted that his health situation prevents him from working and has temporarily paused his podcast, “Corey Harrison Show,” while recovering.

Community Support Amid Local Tragedy

Harrison is grateful that he and his location in Tulum remained unaffected by recent violence linked to the death of drug lord Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, known as “El Mencho.” He explained that while there was unrest in other areas of Mexico, Tulum was safe, and the highways to the town were secured.

As he navigates his recovery process, the support from the GoFundMe campaign highlights the community’s willingness to help in challenging times.
