Chick-fil-A Announces First London Restaurant Location and Opening Date

Chick-fil-A, the renowned American fast-food chain, is making its debut in London with the opening of its first restaurant in the city. This new location will be situated at 90 Eden Street, Kingston-upon-Thames, previously an HSBC bank. Its official opening is scheduled for Thursday, March 5, 2025.

Chick-fil-A’s Expansion in the UK

The Kingston restaurant marks Chick-fil-A’s fourth opening in the United Kingdom. The chain has previously launched successful locations in Belfast and Leeds, with plans for a Liverpool outpost expected later this year.

Operating Hours

After the March 5 opening, the Kingston location will operate Monday through Saturday, from 10 AM to 10 PM.

Menu Highlights

Customers in Kingston can look forward to a full range of Chick-fil-A’s iconic offerings. Popular menu items include:

  • Chicken Sandwich
  • Grilled Nuggets
  • Iced Tea
  • Dipping Sauces

Chick-fil-A is notoriously known for its long queues, especially during peak hours, indicating a strong demand for its products.

Controversies and Community Focus

Chick-fil-A’s entry into the UK market has faced challenges in the past. In 2019, the company opened locations in Reading and Aviemore but faced backlash due to its founder’s anti-LGBTQ+ statements and corporate donations to certain organizations deemed hostile to LGBTQ+ rights. As a result, both of those leases were not renewed.

However, Chick-fil-A has since announced that it has redirected its charitable efforts towards supporting homelessness and education, distancing itself from previous controversies.

Future Prospects

Chick-fil-A’s current expansion in the UK signals its commitment to successfully establishing a foothold in the competitive chicken market. With three locations already operational and further expansions in the pipeline, the company is adapting to the UK market with a focus on community engagement and customer satisfaction.
