A man was airlifted to a hospital following a shark attack while snorkeling off the coast of Queensland. The incident occurred around 8:15 AM on Thursday near Lady Elliot Island, a small coral cay on the southern Great Barrier Reef.

The man suffered a severe laceration to his arm along with superficial cuts to his abdomen and hand. He was treated by Queensland Ambulance Service personnel before being transported to Bundaberg Base Hospital, where he is currently in stable condition.
