Chmerkovskiy completed the show Sunday at the Prairie Home Alliance Theater in Peoria but said he ended up in a Peoria hospital room afterward, writing on Facebook that “The doc was cool – shout out to Claire our PT (physical therapist) on tour, and everyone on our tour for rallying. ” The post said he had been experiencing vertigo for the past couple of days and had it the day of the performance.

Travel with a national tour was central to what he described as the episode: Chmerkovskiy said being on a moving bus left him “just spinning” and that he “couldn’t get myself together” in time for the show.
