Dhanbad Boosts Security Measures for Holi Celebrations
The Dhanbad district administration has implemented a comprehensive security strategy for the upcoming Holi celebrations. This initiative aims to ensure a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere across all subdivisions.
Intensive Security Arrangements
Starting from March 3 at 2 PM to March 5 at 6 AM, a special control room will be operational. This facility will monitor the situation continuously and ensure rapid responses to any emergencies.
Structural Deployment
The district has been segmented into seven zones:
- Katras
- Dhanbad
- Chirkunda
- Topchanchi
- Jharia
- Govindpur
- Tundi
Each zone will have designated magistrates and police officers. These officials will ensure close coordination at local police stations and outposts to facilitate prompt action when necessary.
Enhanced Monitoring and Patrols
Officials have developed plans for continuous mobile patrols in sensitive areas. Specialized quick response teams will be deployed to provide immediate assistance when required. Senior administrative and police personnel will also be actively supervising field activities to maintain law and order.
Liquor Ban Implementation
In an effort to maintain peace, the administration has announced a complete ban on liquor sales during Holi. This includes the closure of all liquor shops, bars, and restaurants serving alcohol. Authorities will enforce strict penalties for any illegal brewing, storage, or sale of alcohol.

Additionally, a dedicated social media monitoring cell will oversee online activities. This initiative aims to prevent the spread of misleading or inflammatory content that could disrupt communal harmony. Strict legal actions will be taken against individuals found attempting to incite unrest.

Healthcare services are also on high alert. Emergency medical teams and ambulances will be on standby to address any urgent medical situations arising during the festivities.
