Where the season stands
Arkansas enters the second half of SEC play at 25-13 overall and 8-7 in conference. That 8-7 start is the program’s first through 15 league games since 2012.
The Razorbacks need a 10-5 finish in the final 15 SEC games to reach 18 conference wins. An 18-win mark would mark a ninth straight season with 18-plus SEC victories.
Arkansas is one of only two SEC programs to post at least eight consecutive 18-win conference seasons. LSU is the other school to achieve a long streak.
Pitching spotlight: Hunter Dietz
Left-hander Hunter Dietz has returned to full health after early-career injuries. He has emerged as one of the SEC’s top lefty starters.
Through nine starts Dietz is 3-2 with a 3.61 ERA and leads the SEC with 78 strikeouts in 47.1 innings. He has recorded five quality starts this season.
- Notable outings include 7.0 innings vs UT Arlington and 6.0-plus innings against Stetson and South Carolina.
- Dietz has three double-digit strikeout games this year: 12, 12 and 11 strikeouts in separate starts.
