Blues’ Fabbri Claimed Off Waivers; Oilers’ Mangiapane, Regula Clear Waivers

The Minnesota Wild has made a significant move by claiming forward Robby Fabbri off waivers from the St. Louis Blues. The 30-year-old Fabbri carries a cap hit of $775,000 for the current season and is a pending unrestricted free agent. This season, he has participated in only 15 NHL games, netting one goal and three assists.

In addition to his NHL performance, Fabbri has recorded one goal and one assist in just three games with the AHL’s Charlotte Checkers. Throughout his career, he has accumulated 107 goals and 113 assists over 457 games played with the Blues, Detroit Red Wings, and Anaheim Ducks.

Oilers’ Mangiapane and Regula Clear Waivers

On the same day, Edmonton Oilers forward Andrew Mangiapane and defenseman Alec Regula cleared waivers. This development allows both players to be reassigned to the AHL, providing the Oilers with potential cap relief.

Andrew Mangiapane’s Season Overview

  • Mangiapane has played 52 games this season.
  • He has recorded seven goals and 14 points.
  • His plus/minus rating stands at -19.
  • Signed a two-year, $7.2 million contract this summer.

If Mangiapane is assigned to the AHL, the Oilers will benefit from $1.15 million in cap relief, which is the bury relief limit. His current contract has a cap hit of $3.6 million, contributing to challenges surrounding trade value.

Alec Regula’s Performance

  • Regula, standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 211 pounds, has played 29 games this season.
  • He has recorded three points with a -16 plus/minus rating.
  • His average ice time is 14:28 per game.
  • Regula is also signed for the upcoming season at a $775,000 cap hit.

Prior to joining the Oilers, Regula was claimed off waivers from the Boston Bruins on December 11, 2024. His performance with the Bakersfield Condors this season includes three points in three games.

Canucks’ Brisebois Also Clears Waivers

Meanwhile, Vancouver Canucks defenseman Guillaume Brisebois has cleared waivers and will be assigned to the AHL. The 28-year-old has yet to participate in any games this season, either in the NHL or AHL.

Brisebois has played a total of 30 career NHL games, scoring one goal and two assists. He was chosen by Vancouver in the third round of the 2015 NHL Draft and is currently on a one-year contract worth $775,000.
