Kelly Osbourne Now: BRIT Awards Appearance, Weight Loss, and Response to Body Shamers After Ozzy Osbourne's Death
Kelly Osbourne attended the 2026 BRIT Awards in Manchester on February 28 alongside her mother Sharon to accept a posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award on behalf of her late father Ozzy Osbourne — and what should have been one of the most meaningful nights of her life was immediately overshadowed by a wave of online commentary targeting her appearance.
The 41-year-old walked the red carpet in a sleek, floor-length velvet gown with a corseted bodice and spaghetti straps, layered with a black feathered bolero jacket and a stack of necklaces including a cross worn as a tribute to Ozzy, who died on July 22, 2025 at age 76. Hours after the ceremony, social media had largely moved past the tribute and onto dissecting Kelly's noticeably slimmer frame.
Kelly Osbourne Weight Loss and What She Has Said About Her Appearance
Kelly hit Instagram shortly after the ceremony, blasting what she described as a "special kind of cruelty," calling out people who felt entitled to dissect her body while she is grieving. She said she would not tolerate being dehumanized.
"This is a special kind of cruelty in harming someone who is clearly going through something — kicking me while I'm down, doubting my pain, spreading my struggles as gossip, and turning your back when I need support and love most," she wrote on her Instagram Stories. "None of it proves strength; it only reveals a profound absence of compassion and character."
In a separate video posted to social media, she addressed the Ozempic accusations and weight speculation directly: "To the people who keep thinking that they're being funny and mean by writing comments like, 'Are you ill?' or 'Get off Ozempic' or 'You don't look right' — my dad just died and I'm doing the best that I can."
Sharon Osbourne has backed her daughter publicly on multiple occasions since July, telling interviewers that Kelly cannot eat properly right now and that losing a parent produces visible physical effects. "She's lost her daddy. She can't eat right now," Sharon said. She described the online commentary as coming from people who are fundamentally unhappy with their own lives.
What Happened at the BRIT Awards: Ozzy Osbourne's Lifetime Achievement Tribute
Sharon took the stage first, opening with: "I'm honored to accept this award for my gorgeous husband. God knows I wish he was here to accept it himself, so you've got the booby prize." She told the crowd Ozzy was watching from above and added that he "hated to make speeches and hated listening to speeches."
Kelly kept her remarks short and heartfelt, thanking fans for loving her father "as much as we do" before signing off with a nod to his Birmingham roots: "Up the Villa."
