Lisa Rinna Says She Was Drugged at ‘Traitors’ Premiere and Tested Positive for Fentanyl
lisa rinna has said medical testing showed fentanyl and high levels of amphetamines in her system after the Season 4 premiere party for "The Traitors" on Jan. 8, an episode she has discussed publicly on television and at a recent book event. The allegation, which centers on a West Hollywood nightclub called the Abbey, has prompted a venue review and public comment from Rinna.
Rinna’s account on Good Day New York: tests, a leak and limits on what she can say
On Good Day New York, lisa rinna told hosts Jerry O’Connell and Rosanna Scotto that she had fentanyl and amphetamines in her system after the party. When asked if she was certain she’d been roofied, she said, "Yes, I was. I had fentanyl in my system. " She added she took a test after the party: "I’m not kidding. I had fentanyl, high levels of amphetamines and other things. But I can’t talk a lot about it because we’re still dealing with it. It was leaked, and my team is dealing with it now. "
Rinna also said she could not publicly identify who she believes may have been responsible. She pushed back on suggestions she had simply consumed too much alcohol and said her husband, Harry Hamlin, helped her leave the event.
What happened at the Abbey: party details, a group photo and a concerned co-star
The episode in question occurred at the Abbey in West Hollywood during the Season 4 premiere party for "The Traitors" on Jan. 8. An earlier report on Monday said Rinna thought she had been roofied at the party. Colton Underwood, a fellow cast member on the show, noticed Rinna was "completely inebriated" despite not drinking much; he was with her the whole night and became concerned. Colton notified Rinna’s team, and they got her out of the venue after a group picture.
Colton’s intervention drew attention because Rinna and Underwood had a public rivalry toward the end of their time on the series, though Rinna has said their relationship was at times friendly. At a recent book signing, she teased that she may have said something at the reunion that upset Underwood and that he had unfollowed her on social media.
Venue response: internal review and surveillance, no evidence of tampering found
The Abbey issued a statement saying Rinna’s team shared concerns following her visit and that the venue immediately conducted a thorough internal review. The statement said when she became unwell, security assisted her and escorted her safely out of the venue, and staff pulled and reviewed all available surveillance footage and interviewed personnel on duty. The Abbey said it found no evidence of drink tampering or suspicious behavior toward her and that it cannot speak to medical findings or speculate about toxicology results.
The statement added that the venue takes any report of a guest feeling unwell or unsafe extremely seriously, follows established investigative protocols, and encourages guests who believe their drink has been compromised to report it to management or law enforcement. It said the Abbey has extensive surveillance coverage, trained security personnel and ongoing drink-safety measures, and that guest safety remains its highest priority.
Medical, legal and reporting gaps: testing, representatives and unanswered questions
Rinna said she confirmed the presence of fentanyl through medical testing but also said details are still being handled by her team after information about the test was leaked. It is unclear if police were involved or if she went to the hospital. Representatives for Rinna and for Underwood had not responded to requests for comment in the materials included with the initial reporting.
Rinna’s career, memoir and on-screen rivalries
Rinna, who has appeared on "Days of Our Lives, " "Melrose Place" and reality shows including "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" and "Dancing With the Stars, " promoted her memoir, "You Better Believe I’m Going to Talk About It, " during the Good Day New York appearance. She was selected as one of the traitors on Season 4 of "The Traitors" and has been noted for a rivalry with Colton Underwood and for clashes with fellow contestant Rob Rausch. The season finale was noted to air on a Thursday night.
Her interview also touched on a complicated history with host Andy Cohen, material she addresses in the memoir. Rinna said she was upset after Cohen shared private text messages without her permission and confirmed he had published her private messages. She also recently appeared on "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen" for the first time in four years and described that appearance as unexpectedly positive.
Rinna has said many people she knows—"all my daughter’s friends, " she said—have experienced similar incidents at the Abbey and that the problem has gone on for years. "I do think it needs to be a conversation, " she said, and added she has not yet had time to address it fully.
