New Horror: Disturbing Details Emerge of Grandfather’s Torture
An 85-year-old man, identified as Chris Baghsarian, was reportedly a victim of a horrific kidnapping and torture case in Sydney, Australia. Police allege he was taken from his home in North Ryde on February 13 due to a case of mistaken identity. The attackers thought they were abducting another person living nearby.

Baghsarian’s ordeal is chilling. According to law enforcement, he was subjected to extreme violence before succumbing to his injuries within 48 hours of being abducted. The authorities have not confirmed whether he died before or after a gruesome act in which a finger was severed using a handsaw.

Law enforcement officials assert that the suspects attempted to destroy evidence by setting fire to a vehicle involved in the kidnapping. A partially burnt Toyota Corolla was discovered in Westmead, containing crucial evidence:
- A handsaw linked to the torture of Mr. Baghsarian
- A blood-stained carpet
- A discarded cigarette butt with DNA matching one of the accused
The two suspects, Daniel Stevens, 24, and Gerard Andrews, 29, allegedly prepared for the crime by purchasing dark clothing prior to the abduction. Police claim they forcibly removed Baghsarian from his home around 5 a.m., transferring him from an SUV to a Corolla before reaching a remote property in Dural, which officials have termed a “stronghold.”
Kidnapping and Ransom Demand
During his captivity, Baghsarian was reportedly subjected to severe mistreatment. Disturbing images and videos were sent to the family of the intended victim, Karo Stepanyan, in a failed attempt to secure a $50 million ransom. The captors threatened Baghsarian with a firearm, as shown in one video where a man demanded contact details for Stepanyan’s sons.

On February 24, police located Mr. Baghsarian’s body along with evidence from the Dural property, confirming the severity of the crime.
