Gulf Oil to Invest $150 Million to Build at Least 100 Gas Stations in Uzbekistan

Gulf Oil announced on February 18 in Washington that it will invest at least $150 million to develop a retail fuel network in uzbekistan, with plans to open at least 100 modern gas stations over the next two years. The company also flagged a separate aviation investment and a Central Asia operational hub as part of the move.

Uzbekistan rollout over two years

Gulf Vice President Craig Kramer said the rollout will see a minimum of 100 stations built to Western technical and environmental standards, with financing fully secured. Kramer set the construction window at two years and described each facility as modern and unique in capacity and design; regional governors have proposed nearly 200 potential sites for the network.

Aviation plans and job targets

Beyond retail fuel, Gulf plans to invest roughly $50 million through its Gulf Aviation unit to modernize aviation fuel supply and related infrastructure. its transport strategy includes multifunctional highway centers that will cater to tourists and transit carriers, with each center expected to create at least 30 jobs and the overall projects generating more than 3, 000 new positions for local workers.

Standards, sites and a Tashkent base

The project emphasizes Western specifications for fuel and service, aiming to supply higher-quality fuel and modern service infrastructure across uzbekistan. Local officials have signaled support by identifying nearly 200 site proposals, and Gulf plans to use Tashkent as its operational base for Central Asia.

Gulf’s commitments on February 18 include concrete near-term steps: secured financing for retail assets, the two-year construction timetable for at least 100 stations, a roughly $50 million aviation investment, and the decision to base Central Asia operations in Tashkent. Company officials say the combination of retail outlets and transport centers will expand fuel availability while creating thousands of local jobs.

Work on station construction and the establishment of Gulf’s Tashkent base are the next confirmed milestones: the company will begin the two-year network rollout and the aviation modernization program as outlined in its February 18 announcement.
