Following the incident, Raye expressed her distress on social media. She stated, “I am completely devastated for the 65 ticket holders who were turned down from entering our Paris show.” Raye described the situation as “completely unacceptable and wrong.”
Technical Issues Cited as Reason
The singer explained that a system error at Ticketmaster was responsible for the denial of entry. She noted that 65 tickets were not properly validated at the time of purchase, which was beyond her control. To alleviate the situation, Raye confirmed that those turned away were refunded and offered a voucher from Ticketmaster.
Compensation for Affected Fans
As a gesture of goodwill, Raye extended a special offer to the denied fans. She proposed complimentary tickets to any future concert of their choice, along with a signed vinyl. “My deepest apologies to those of you affected,” she added in her heartfelt message.
Ticketmaster’s Response
In a statement to the media, Ticketmaster acknowledged the issue, attributing it to a technical glitch. They emphasized that affected fans had been fully refunded and received a gift card, although they recognized it did not substitute the concert experience.
