County Backs Texans’ New Headquarters in Houston Suburbs
The Houston Texans are set to establish a new headquarters in the suburbs, thanks to the backing of Harris County. This initiative seeks to enhance the team’s facilities and provide a dedicated space for practice and training.
New Headquarters in Bridgeland
The Harris County commissioners recently approved a collaboration with the Texans to construct this facility on an expansive 83-acre plot located in Bridgeland, approximately 35 miles from downtown Houston. This decision marks a significant step towards improving the team’s infrastructure.
Current Headquarters Challenges
Currently, the Texans operate out of NRG Stadium, where they also host home games. However, scheduling conflicts have arisen due to the stadium’s use for various other events. This has prompted the organization to seek a dedicated location.

Cal McNair, the owner of the Texans, emphasized the importance of relocating the headquarters. He stated, “Moving off-site would be more optimal for us. This would allow us to focus the organization and reduce distractions.” McNair expressed a desire for a world-class facility that aligns with both the team’s competitive goals and business ambitions.

The Texans plan to utilize 22 acres of the site for their operations. The remaining land will host an array of amenities:
