- Porridge sachets: Cut from £0.99 to £0.79
- Organic oats: Slashed from £2.19 to £1.99
- No Beef Flank Steak: Decreased to £6.99 from £7.49
- Vegetable Pieces & Meatballs: Cut by £0.50 to £1.49
- Beef & Pork Bolognese Mince: Dropped from £4.79 to £4.49
- Pork & Gammon Joints: Reduced from £3.99 to £3.49
- Specially Selected British Cheese: Slashed to £2.29 from £2.59
- Sweetcorn: Cut by £0.04 to £0.55

According to Aldi UK’s chief commercial officer, Julie Ashfield, this initiative responds to continued economic pressures faced by customers. She emphasized the company’s ongoing strategy to offer the lowest possible prices without sacrificing quality.
Market Position and Performance
In January, Aldi was recognized as the cheapest supermarket according to the Super Grocer 33 basket comparison, outperforming Lidl by 1.1%. The total for Aldi was £55.49, while Lidl’s came in at £56.10.
Recent data from Worldpanel revealed that grocery price inflation reached 4% in the four weeks leading up to January 25, marking the lowest rate since April of the previous year. During the same period, Aldi’s sales increased by 3.8% year-on-year, maintaining its market share at 10.1%.
These strategic price reductions and the associated growth in sales underscore Aldi’s efforts to solidify its position as a leader in value within the grocery sector.
