Steve Allison, the General Manager of the Epic Games Store, confirmed that around 40 crossovers are expected this year, with projections for over 60 in 2027. These partnerships will allow players who purchase games on the Epic platform to unlock related cosmetics in Fortnite.

The recent report also revealed impressive statistics for the Epic Games Store. Player spending in third-party PC games surged by 57% year-over-year, reaching a record $400 million. Additionally, the platform achieved 78 million monthly active users, alongside 662 million titles claimed through its free games program.

Upcoming Improvements and Expansion Plans

To address user concerns regarding performance, Epic plans significant updates to the Epic Games Store launcher this summer. These enhancements aim to create a more responsive and stable user experience, countering previous criticism about slow loading times.

Furthermore, Epic is investing in its mobile platform, which has surpassed 50 million installs. Although this figure falls short of the original goal of 100 million by the end of 2024, the company remains optimistic. Despite challenges like friction from “scare screens,” expansion plans include launching in Japan in March and Brazil in June, in line with recent regulatory changes.
