Fairfax Legislator Proposes New Assault Weapons Ban
In Fairfax, Virginia, State Senator Saddam Azlan Salim introduced a bill on Wednesday aimed at banning assault weapons. If enacted, this legislation would take effect on July 1. Previous Attempts to Restrict Assault Weapons
During the 2024 and 2025 legislative sessions, Salim also introduced bills aimed at limiting access to assault weapons. Although both measures passed in the Virginia General Assembly, they were ultimately vetoed by former Governor Glenn Youngkin.
