Easter Hospitality Guidelines: How Bars and Outdoor Seating Will Operate

The Seville city council has announced a special operational plan for Holy Week 2026. The measures target terraces and hospitality outlets along the Carrera Oficial and main access routes.

Terrace removal schedule and conditions

From Domingo de Ramos to Sábado Santo, terraces must be cleared by 17:00 each day. In many central streets, removal is required one hour before the Cruz de Guía passes.

Businesses may reinstall outdoor seating after the cofradías pass. Reopening must comply with the terms of each licence.

Allowed and prohibited elements

Where terraces return, only high tables are often authorised. The authorised capacity must remain unchanged.

The council bans auxiliary items like external bars, toneles, or extra furniture. Consumption is confined to the licensed footprint.

Streets and zones with specific restrictions

The plan lists numerous streets in the Casco Antiguo and other high-traffic areas. Named locations include Reyes Católicos, Tetuán, Adriano and Paseo de Colón.

Other affected points include Plaza del Duque, Alameda de Hércules, San Jacinto, Plaza del Salvador, Plaza de la Alfalfa and Plaza de la Encarnación. Restrictions adapt to each procession itinerary.

Alcohol, opening hours and sales limits

Bars serving alcohol during la Madrugada must close at 03:00 and stay closed until 06:00. In sensitive hotspots, closing advances to 01:00.

Zones with earlier closing include El Silencio, Alfonso XII and Plaza del Duque. Controls there will be reinforced.

The sale of beverages will be banned in some central and Triana sectors during processions. This includes glass, cans and plastic containers.

Limited exceptions allow water, soft drinks and coffee in authorised formats. A general prohibition on alcohol sales remains in force from 22:00 to 08:00.

Commercial displays, inspections and public works

Digital shop windows and illuminated signs must be switched off during the paso. The move aims to preserve a traditional procession atmosphere.

To date, the council completed more than 117 inspections. It removed over 180 obstacles that impeded procession routes.

Infrastructure improvements

Authorities carried out over 370 pavement interventions along procession streets. Works also addressed street furniture to boost safety.

Public lighting adjustments include more than 140 measurements and the elevation of 41 cables. Plans call for switching off lighting in 61 streets and plazas.

Enforcement and operational context

The measures align with Easter hospitality guidelines and aim to clarify how bars and outdoor seating will operate. Rules prioritise public safety and procession fluidity.

Council oversight includes licence compliance checks and construction monitoring. Filmogaz.com will follow any updates and enforcement developments.
