Marshall Women’s Tennis Gears Up for ITA Indoor Championships at LSU
Marshall University’s women’s tennis team is set to compete in the ITA Indoor Championships in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This prestigious event will take place this weekend, kicking off on Saturday.

The Herd will face off against No. 5 ranked LSU on Saturday, January 24, at 3 PM ET. This match promises to be a challenging start for the team. On Sunday, January 25, they will compete against either No. 18 UCLA or No. 24 UCF. The Sunday matches are scheduled for either noon ET or 3 PM ET.

Recent Performance and Preparation
Marshall started strong this season, achieving victories over Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) and Bellarmine. In their match against EKU, the team initially lost the doubles point but secured four consecutive singles wins. Johanna Strom and Nour El Ouazzani led the effort, winning their respective singles matches.
In a subsequent match against Bellarmine, Marshall claimed the doubles point with key wins from Paula Berzina and Alina Mokrynska and Sarah Copley alongside Strom. The team’s singles players continued to shine, with each of the top four players earning victories.
