Chris Pratt, Katherine Schwarzenegger’s Kids Haven’t Watched Any Movies

Chris Pratt said the electric-chair scenes in Mercy pushed him into a claustrophobic and emotional headspace. He told the Today show he worked to keep that darkness away from family life.

Chris Pratt said Katherine Schwarzenegger’s Kids Haven’t Watched Any Movies, he revealed during the interview. He credited his wife’s old-school approach to screens for the decision.

Family details

Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger married in 2019. They share three children: Lyla Maria, 5; Eloise Christina, 3; and Ford, 1.

The couple announced Ford’s birth in November 2024. Pratt also has a 13-year-old son, Jack, with ex-wife Anna Faris.

Why screens are limited

Schwarzenegger has spoken publicly about screen rules. In 2024 she told The Skinny Confidential, “We don’t do screen time.”

She said she prefers play without devices. Still, she noted the children had watched a few episodes of Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood.

Children and films

Pratt explained his young children have not yet seen a full movie. He joked they will one day realize their dad voices Mario and think he is cool.

Older son Jack attended an early screening of the first Mario movie. Pratt said Jack enjoyed it and found it pretty cool.

Work, roles and boundaries

Pratt has provided voices for family-friendly films. His credits include the Mario films, The Garfield Movie, and two Lego movies.

He described Mercy as “very dark” and said he tried not to take that work home. He also called AI an “awesome tool” that requires safeguards.

Looking ahead

Schwarzenegger has questioned when and how to introduce movies and characters. Pratt and she continue discussing balance and timing for their children.
