Genesis Recalls 84,000 Vehicles Due to Faulty Instrument Clusters

Genesis has recently announced a recall affecting 83,877 vehicles due to issues with faulty instrument clusters and infotainment systems. This recall includes several models from the 2025 and 2026 production years.

Details of the Recall

The affected models comprise the G80, Electrified G80, GV60, GV70, Electrified GV70, and GV80. The recall follows reports that these vehicles may experience sudden reboots of the screens while in use. Such interruptions could prevent drivers from seeing critical information, including the fuel gauge, speedometer, and various warning messages.

Cause of the Issue

According to documentation filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the root of the problem lies in a software logic error associated with HD radio memory storage. This glitch has been confirmed to intermittently disrupt display functionality.

Complaints and Safety Concerns

As of the recall announcement, Genesis had not reported any accidents or injuries related to this issue. However, they had received 237 complaints between September 26, 2024, and January 2, 2026, regarding the system failures.

Remedial Actions

Genesis began implementing a software remedy on November 26, 2025, as a part of changes in production. The company advises owners of the affected vehicles to temporarily disable the HD radio feature until the software update can be applied. Affected vehicle owners will be notified via mail with detailed instructions for visiting their dealership for assistance.
