Capcom has unveiled that the highly anticipated character Alex will be available in Street Fighter 6 starting March 17. This downloadable content (DLC) character has a rich history in the franchise and brings an array of new moves and techniques to the game.

Character Overview: Alex

Alex first appeared in Street Fighter III: New Generation back in 1997. Known for his bold attitude, he earned the nickname “The Man with No Allies” due to his fierce competitive nature. His wrestling background enriches his combat style, allowing for a diverse set of throws and moves.

New Moves and Abilities

In Street Fighter 6, Alex features a refined set of techniques that enhance his fighting capabilities. His arsenal includes:

Flash Axe: A rapid attack that offers light and medium options. The medium version transitions into the Prowler Stance.
Flash Chop: A powerful ground strike that opens up opportunities for follow-up moves like Power Bomb and Oblique Stomp.
Aerial Knee Smash: An anti-air maneuver that slams opponents to the ground.
Power Bomb: Alex’s signature move, available in light, medium, and heavy variations.
Prowler Stance: While in this stance, Alex sacrifices his ability to block but gains multiple follow-up options.
Raging Spear: A Level 1 Super Art that allows him to tackle opponents effectively.
Sledgecross Hammer: This Level 2 Super Art uses a lariat that can wall splat airborne enemies.
Omega Wing Buster: Another Level 2 Super Art, captured in motion by wrestling star Kenny Omega.
The Final Prison: A Level 3 Super Art featuring multiple animations and powerful grappling moves.

Character Appearance and Theme

Alex will feature two outfits upon launch. Outfit 1 embodies his persona as the Dark Devil of the ring, while Outfit 2 echoes his classic look from Street Fighter III. Additionally, fans can look forward to his theme song, “GO! ALEX! Hope is Born!” composed by the renowned anime music group JAM Project.

Accessing Alex in Street Fighter 6

Players can unlock Alex by purchasing the Year 3 Character Pass or the Year 3 Ultimate Pass. He joins previously released characters Sagat and C. Viper, with Ingrid set to join the roster in late spring 2025.
