Dorset Prison Van Escape: Police Launch Intensive Search | ITV News

Poole officers are searching for a man who fled from a prison transport vehicle on Thursday 2nd April. The incident occurred on Poole Road at about 5:30pm. The escape has prompted a Dorset prison van escape response and police launch intensive search measures reported by ITV News.

Who escaped

The suspect is named as Jason Evans, 32. He had attended Poole Magistrates’ Court earlier that day and faced assault charges.

Evans was remanded in custody and placed in a privately-operated prison van for transit to another location.

Police response

Dorset Police launched a ground and air search immediately after the escape. A police helicopter was deployed to assist officers in scouring the area.

Superintendent Joe Pardey said officers are working to locate and return Evans to custody. He urged anyone who sees a man matching the description to report it to police without delay.
