The pub is situated behind Holden’s existing establishment, The Bag Lady. Michael and his sister Kiera purchased the property from Jane Beattie in July, who originally opened The Bag Lady in 2009. Holden felt an Irish pub would perfectly complement their beloved eatery.
Design and Ambiance
The Off Licence Pub is designed to evoke the charm of cozy pubs found throughout Ireland. Much of the decor was sourced directly from Ireland, reinforcing the authentic atmosphere. The pub features:
- Irish folk music
- Television screens for soccer games
- A small fireplace to enhance coziness
- Two televisions for sports viewing
Holden’s connection to Ireland runs deep. He aims to honor his parents, who emigrated from Belfast in the 1970s, with this venture.
The Opening and Community Response
