Replica of Trump to Epstein Birthday Card Displayed on National Mall
A striking large replica of a sexually suggestive birthday greeting for Jeffrey Epstein has made its debut on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. This display, which stands 10 feet tall, was positioned near the United States Capitol to mark what would have been Epstein’s 73rd birthday.
Details of the Display
The installation features a provocative drawing of a naked woman’s torso along with what appears to be former President Donald Trump’s signature. On one side, it reads, “Happy Birthday To A ‘Terrific Guy!’” referencing Trump’s 2002 description of Epstein in New York magazine.
The reverse side includes the torso illustration and a message stating, “may every day be another wonderful secret,” with “Donald” inscribed below the waist.
Purpose and Context
This artwork was created by an anonymous artist collective known as the Secret Handshake. Their intent is to scrutinize the connections between Trump and Epstein, a convicted sex offender who died in prison in 2019.
Response from Authorities
The White House expressed disapproval of the display. Abigail Jackson, a spokeswoman, criticized the project and reminded that some Democrats had solicited funds from Epstein.
- “Kudos to these Trump Deranged Liberals for constantly inventing new ways to light Democrat donor money on fire by spreading fake news,” Jackson stated.
Legal and Historical Background
Trump has distanced himself from the drawing, which was released by the House Oversight Committee in September. This document had previously been part of a book gifted to Epstein for his 50th birthday in 2003.
The National Park Service issued a permit for the display, which measures 12 feet by 10 feet and is permitted to remain until Friday. In addition, a sign at the installation invites visitors to leave messages for the administration.
Previous Installations
The Secret Handshake previously gained attention with a different Epstein-themed installation on the National Mall last September. This earlier project featured bronze statues of Trump and Epstein holding hands, captioned “Best Friends Forever.”
Despite temporary removal due to permit issues, this installation was reinstated in October, reflecting the ongoing scrutiny surrounding Trump and his ties to Epstein.
Ongoing Investigations
Public interest has intensified as the Justice Department has yet to release all documents pertinent to the Epstein case. This failure to meet the December 19 deadline set by Congress has drawn considerable attention to the relationships among public figures involved.
