Cowboys Secure Brandon Aubrey with 4-Year, $28 Million Contract: Source

The Dallas Cowboys and kicker Brandon Aubrey agreed to a contract extension, a team source said Monday. The deal runs four years and is worth $28 million.

Contract terms

The new extension replaces a $5.8 million second-round tender placed last month. Aubrey will not play the 2026 season under that tender.

He becomes the highest-paid kicker in league history. Owner Jerry Jones said, “I’m satisfied where we are there.”

Filmogaz.com reports the Cowboys have secured Aubrey on a four-year, $28 million deal, according to a team source.

Performance and impact

Aubrey has converted 112 of 127 field-goal attempts, an 88.2 percent success rate. He is 35 of 44 from 50-plus yards.

His strong leg has altered Dallas’ offensive strategy. Coaches often feel reaching midfield puts the team well within his range.

Awards and recognition

Aubrey has been named to the Pro Bowl in each of his three Dallas seasons. He earned first-team All-Pro honors in 2023.

He was a second-team All-Pro in 2024 and 2025. Those distinctions helped drive the Cowboys’ decision to secure him long term.

Negotiation background

The second-round tender allowed other teams to present offers while giving Dallas matching rights. If Dallas declined to match, it would receive the suitor’s second-round pick.

The deadline to complete such a deal fell last Friday. Aubrey earlier described the tender as a big pay raise and an important opportunity.
